Fat does not convert to glucose, and therefore does not end up as body fat.

Eating fat CAN keep you from burning your own body fat, by being used instead of
body fat.

However, if your diet contained zero carbs and zero protein, you would not GAIN
weight, no matter how much fat you ate.

So, too much fat can prevent you from losing weight, but - by itself - cannot
cause you to gain weight.

On the other hand, too little fat can also prevent you from losing weight,
because evidently the body has a mechanism whereby it conserves body fat, when
it thinks there is a shortage of available dietary fat to use.

Lastly, the latest evidence indicates that while muscle meat was leaner in paleo
days, because there was no one to "fatten" the game animals (as is done by
livestock ranchers these days), nevertheless paleo man ate a fat rich diet,
because they ate all the fatty organs and brains of the animals they killed.
