A very informative thread. It would also be
interesting to see the different kinds of bodies that
are created by training mostly slow-twitch muscle
fibers (rock climber's lean and ripped bodies???) as
opposed to fast-twitch fibers (body builders???).

Which brings to mind something else I've been curious
about for a long time. Does anybody know where I can
find some pictures that show off the bodies of actual
hunter-gatherers (maybe turn-of-the-century pics,
maybe more recent ones if possible)? All the paleo
literature I've read describes them as extremely lean
and muscular, but I've never actually seen what they
look like. It could be very inspiring.

>Also, any thoughts on whether steamed carrots
>(starchy) would work? I think that when carrots are
>eaten raw the carbs are less bioavailable

I'd like to know this too. I've been trying to
research on the best paleo foods for weight-lifting,
but havn't found any really good literature on it.
Although yesterday I had an egg-white omelette and
mango for lunch, an avocado about an hour later, and a
very good leg-session in the gym about an hour after
that. But the problem with personal anecdotal
evidence is that there's so many confounding factors
(mood, amount of sleep the night before, etc.). Plus
was it the mango or avocado that did the trick? Or
the combination? I would like to get some good
literature on the subject. Anyone know of any?

L
