I doubt it is the rare treat or dessert that is raising your
cholesterol. More likely it is the high saturated fat diet. My
choilesterol climbed after I cut out sweets and went paleo, like others
on this list.

I suspect hunter gatherers have low cholesterol because their food
supply is not secure. regular food shortage is said to lower
cholesterol too. Not necessarily healthy or natural.
