The more a person has invested in a belief, the more vigorously they will  
defend it.  It doesn't matter if every argument you provide gives clear,  
logical proof that the belief is wrong, they'll still defend it.  As you  
have rightly perceived, it is an argument you cannot win.  There *are*  
people out there who will listen to reason and question themselves, but  
they're in the minority.
