Based on a prior comment Ray made more or less defending the standard
issue commercial hamburger patty (he said the flesh portion came from
range fed cattle and only the added in fat from feed lot), I swallowed my
pride about the stuff and am trying them as a budget saving way to get my
protien ($1.17/lb frozen at Costco). Have to say, they are sitting very
nicely on my very grain-sensitive tummy, which won't abide meat counter,
corn fed beef. And of course, being the American girl that I am, how
could I not love that taste?

On the Dateline article, in spite of what's been said, I have to give it
high marks. Y'all know I am not the orthodox one around here (I have the
flames from Don to prove it), so maybe I'm just not missing things that
the true believers will consider critical. However, I think it is
persuasive, as informative as it could be, given the brief time and TV
style constraints they have to work in, and likely to intrigue anyone
with a brain plenty enough to go find out more. It presents the logic of
Paleo eating effectively, and, amazingly, without any obvious
condescention.

Probably most important, even though the details given are relatively
"lite", they are enough that a person who put them into effect for even a
few weeks would start to get obvious results and start to feel much
better. That will sell the idea to more people than anything else.

The only part that irked me was the NYU rep pushing calorie restriction
again. How many times is that tired old "data resistant belief" going
to have to be discounted before they quit flogging it? Most people have
already proven the futility of that approach to themselves several times
over; so, I'm not too worried about people accepting it as an effective
rebuttal.

IMHO: Good work to all of you who were involved in the piece!!!
