judy genova asked if the live mealworms she gets them from the pet store in
.... (which are filled with Vit. A, C, & E) are safe for humans to eat? Has
anyone tried them? Are they essentially the same as maggots?

They must be safe to eat; I ate meal worms a couple of times a day, for a
good week, unknowingly, as a kid (in 6th or 7th grade, I think) . I was
making Scottish Shortbread Cookies and I didn't sift the flour that week.
We had a frequent meal worm problem in our pantry with all the crackeres,
cereals, and so forth. The cookies were good enough that I didn't notice
the extra goodies in them.... until the next week I sifted the flour and saw
that it wasn't just a wee bit of fiber in the whole wheat pastry flour!
:-)) I have not knowing eaten meal worms since, but I did live to tell
about it!

Tell us how you like them raw; I've only eaten them cooked and it's been a
while! .... Anyone for Meal Worm & Mustard Vinaigrette?

Cheers,

Rachel
