A.  No, it left little-bitsy bloody holes in my arms   :-(

B.  I did have some pigmentation problems, like waaaaaay-exaggerated
freckles on sun-exposed areas.  These are much more evenly colored now
than they used to be.

C.  The malnutrition can make you susceptible to illness.  There is a
fungus that specifically eats the skin-coloration material in your
cells.  I had a nasty infection of this while living on Guam, resulting
in patches of while among the tan patches, many in the shape of running
water (where sweat would drip across my body, and the fungus would get a
better hold than usual from the constant wetness).

I have had pigment problems, but they seemed so minor in comparison with
my other problems that I didn't pay much attention to them.  My chief
observation is that the darker spots are more likely to fall off and
leave holes than the lighter spots are.
