- The argument was
>made that humans are "spinning out" from their "center", which was defined
>as humans "attempting to remove themselves from their source, from the
>natural environment that sustains them". The implication was that this was
>wrong action for our species, with possibly dire consequences.

there you misunderstand me , because i don't see the attempt of humans to be
in charge as wrong just fondamentally useless becomes it is just plainly
impossible. It just serve the purpose of creating the illusion of a world
undercontrol, it just postpone the realisation of the vulnerability of the
human species no matter how sophisticated are his tools . who serve him to
shape the world as he wish.
In fact more powerfull they are more the awakening is going to be rough.and
tough. ( who live by the sword is going to die from the sword.)

>>In some factions of the Christian religion (just to use a familiar
example)
>and in almost every cult there is almost always someone who predicts doom
>and gloom and the end of the world if people don't change their ways. These
>people help to attract converts to the religion because confused people
>often feel insecure and incomplete.

how come are they feeling insecure and incomplete ? May be because the dom
and gloom is happenning . peoples are not satisfied with their life. if
they are where does the motivation of science to create a better future
come from then?
Each one has his god!
