>I forgot - I do have honey. It is not labeled as organic, but it is local,
>and has a good chunk of comb in it.

make sure that the bees don't get sugar in winter and that it is extracted
without heat . They generally used elctric knife to melt the capping and it
affect part of the honey.
the stop to be respecyed with honey is when the aroma dissipate . it will
stay sweet for a while after that then will burn the throat ( to not wait
for that)

My wife is after the celery, parsley,
>and sweet potatoes as I type. I haven't eaten any meat yet. (all I had
>around the house was ground beef) Are the sweet potatoes you describe
white
>or orange inside? I call orange sweet potatoes, as do most people in
Texas,
>but when I was in Arizona at Christmas, the white ones were labeled sweet
>potatoes, and the orange ones yams.
>
>My initial reaction is disappointment. I am constantly hungry, and have
yet
>to experience a definite "stop". If I continue to be hungry all the time,
>and fail to get the instinctive stop, this experiment won't make it three
>weeks...
the stops can be subtil and at the beginning the quantity of a specific
food that is attractive can be huge depending on previous deficiency , for
me i piled big hip of filbert shells on my plate the 1st winter others have
eaten eggs by the douzains Don't be timid if one food is great go for it
,it will save you lot of unsatisfaction and attempt to compensate with not
so great foods.
Carefull with fruits because they have been bred to have an "easy to
overcome " stop so they can be sold in bigger quantity ( specially true in
NOrth america)
with vegetables it is the opposite don't be afraid to force on them ( they
have often bred with the view of them being eaten cooked so no consideration
for the stop to be made easyto overcome) a wild leek is milder than a
domestic one.
make sure you have good fats and proteins overwise you are going to
compensate withy sweets.

>Another problem with the hunger is that my wife eats the typical American
>trash. Last night, smelling her pizza was killing me. Since going paleo a
>year and a half ago, this hasn't been that much of a problem, but last
night
>it was hard to resist.(but I managed)

you will have to go thru that because once the ingestion of wrong molecules
are stopped the system start to eliminate the old ones stored in tissues and
they recirculate in the bloods bringing memories back.
the peoples surrounding a candidate to raw eating feel threatened by the
change and uncousciously will try to tempt you . I had a friend who didn't
want to hear his wife telling her to eat more raw foods for years , when he
had emergency surgery for colon cancer and decided to go with what i had to
say
his wife was supportive at first thinking something like :< i told you so>
but when he got serious about it , slowly the picture changed and all kind
of appealing cooked meals were done at home and she started to offer him
1rst juices then soup etc.. to the point that he died with toasted bread on
the side of his bed.
she had a vegetarian catering business and when young ate raw for a while ,
tried for many years to go back to it by convincing her husband who din't
care about it. he loved to eat fried vegetarian foods. The sad thing is
that he told me that as a kid he was raised on wild games and vegetables
then as a young adult went vegetarian.

Changes are not easy even when your life is at stake. I know that 1rst hand
. I heard about instincto when 18 and knew than it was for me but i waited
age 30 to makes some step. Mostly i have been forced to change but then i
have a friend who owned a vegetarian restaurant quitted his job went all raw
from one day to an other for no other apparant reason that it must be fun
to do. he is still raw after 15 years.

courage if it feel right to you deep down.
