Here are some of the alleged benefits of green tea. But, does it have caffeine?
_______________________________________________________
Prevents broken DNA strands. Powerful total antioxidant. Digestive
stimulant. Immune system stimulant par excellence! (stimulates production of
white blood cells and strengthens them). Bioantimutagenic. Enhances
performance of chemotherapeutic drugs to make them more effective with
smaller dose and minimizes side effects; blocks absorption of cholesterol
which reduces blood cholesterol, lowers LDL, prevents cancer cells from
proliferating, kills Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermis,
Salmonella typhi, Salmonella typhinurium, Salmonella enteritidis, shigella
flexneri, Shigella dysenteriae, and Clostridium, Bordetella pertussis.
(works by prophylactic effect: inhibts bacteria from adhering to cells in
the body and preventing the pertussis toxin from damaging white blood
cells.) Anti-cholera. Also inhibits the growth of Streptococcus mutans,
which causes dental plaque and cavities. Prevents viruses from attaching to
cells. Stimulates liver enzymes and protects liver from free-radical
damage. Stablizes blood sugar. Reverses brain damage caused by free
radicals. ("The mental protection hypothesized by the aforementioned study
was demonstrated in 46 cases of cerebrovascular disease (including 22
patients with dementia) studied by physicians at the Beijing Tian Tan
Affiliated Hospital of Capital Medical University in China. All of these
patients, who had significant cognitive impairments, were given green tea
polyphenol supplements daily for one month; no other
brain-function-improving drugs were given for the duration of the study. An
impressive 91% of the dementia patients and 60% of the patients with verbal
disorders showed significant improvement. The physicians noted that the
earlier in the course of the disease's progression the polyphenols were
given, the better the effect.")
