On a side note, we stopped using deodorants also since we are both
nursing mothers. We splash on a little witch hazel and have no
problems!

Hi Twins! What is witch hazel and where do you get it?

NeanderTwins:

Witch Hazel is a shrub that grows approximately 12 ft high in the US and
got it's name because of the remarkable medicinal properties of the
alcoholic extract from the leaves and bark. It is an astringent,
antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and styptic. Externally it can be used
for bruises, cuts, oily skin, spots, insect bites, broken capillaries,
piles (hemorrhoids), and varicose veins. As a compress for sprains,
phlebitis, sunburn, and hot swollen joints.

We find ours at Walmart, Target, Eckerd's, or Walgreen's usually next to
rubbing alcohol. We read the labels for the purest. One of our
favorite brands is T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel which is 100% distilled
Witch Hazel, containing Alcohol 14% and is double distilled.

Hope this helps. We use a lot of it as face wash, deodorant,
after-shave, for sunburns, itchy skin, remove water in ears and the list
goes on.

NeanderTwins,
Kendra and Karen
