Maybe "human" but definitely not a full citizen....
"woman is under the man, as the Church is under Christ"
"woman shall keep silent"...."shall not teach"......
or preach......"all evil comes from woman....as from
Eve"..............and I would point out all the generations
of women who were denied education - with the full
support of the Church - on the grounds that women
were only supposed to bear children......and women
were "sold" in marriage to further their fathers'
interests....again with the support of the Church....
and let's not forget all the people - male and female
who were murdered during the Inquisition....which
was a tool of the Church......and only white European
women were even granted souls....women of many
the other sub-species were considered animals....
but then, the men were too...........
