An astronaut on board the International Space Station has been sent a
supply of beef jerky.

The dried beef snack was on board a Russian cargo capsule.

The online company Beefjerky.com arranged for the delivery of a
three-ounce packet of its Final Frontier brand. In 1997 it sent a
40-ounce packet to the Mir.

The company claims one of the ISS astronauts ordered the snack after it
was recommended by a nephew via e-mail.

An earlier resupply mission saw a six-inch vacuum-packed pizza with
standard crust, sauce, cheese and salami delivered courtesy of Pizza
Hut.
