So I can share a little bit on my experience with this
subject.  I tried to get pregnant for 1.5 years, and
it wasn't until I started doing extreme low carb
(which also just happened to be Paleo) that I was able
to get pregnant.

For the first month that I didn't know I was pregnant
I was on extreme low carb.  When I found out I was
pregnant, I thought to myself that this gave me an
excuse to eat any way I wanted.  So I started eating
ice cream and other crap, and immediately had horrible
morning sickness.

I felt sick a lot and my blood pressure started going
up.  I knew I should be shooting for a low carb
pregnancy, but then I had unleashed the sleeping carb
dragon and had a horrible time getting back on the
wagon.

So then my doctor starts threatening bedrest because
my blood pressure is getting worse and worse.  So I do
a week on low carb, and it goes down 20 points in a
week!  So then the doctor is happy, and I end up
caving to cravings and the next week it is back up
again!

I went through this for twenty weeks of my pregnancy.
One week on low carb, one week off.  Every week I was
off, my blood pressure was up.. every week I was on my
blood pressure went down.  So I know for sure a low
carb diet will lower blood pressure.
