Hi,

I'm new to the list, and I thought to introduce myself briefly and ask
several questions.

My interest in paleodiets is immediate; I'm 6'0" (about 185cm) and 370 lbs
(168kg). I have had considerable temporary success on the Stillman,
Atkins, and other low-carb diets, but I always put it back on over a year
or two. I lose slowly or not at all eating >25g of carbs.

Two questions: what do the initials SAD stand for, in describing diets?
And does anybody have experience with a reliable source of bison? I would
eat it in preference to any other meats if I could get it relatively
easily, but the local stores only sell small packets and the the producers
I talked with charge so much for shipping that I would need to chip in with
others and get 100 pounds or so to make it feasible. BTW, I'm located in
the SF Bay Area, so local references, if you have any, are even more
welcome.

Mike
