For the last 10 days I have had the most horrible case of PMS I have had in a while. I know supplements are not paleo, but I take natural sublingual progesterone, which is helping regulate my cycles and minimize the symptoms.

Anyway, for about 9 days starting shortly after Thanksgiving and the week after Thanksgiving my husband and I were on vacation. We took a cruise and although I stuck to paleo foods, I am sure that all the meat/chicken/etc. was commercially raised. I doubt the vegetables were organically grown. Given that I eat anywhere from 1 ½ to 2 lbs of protein per day, could eating commercially raised protein for roughtly 9 days have caused an increase in my estrogen causing an imbalance?

In addition, I make my own lotion to avoid xenoestrogens, but I used some regular lotion during the cruise. When we got back I had back pain and used something called Biofreeze, which also has xenoestrogens.

Could all those factors combined have caused such an increase in my estrogen to cause a pretty strong imbalance? Just curious because my PMS had gotten much better but this last one really hit me from physical pain, stiffness and fatigue, to water retention, depression, and craving sweets and carbs. Any thoughts?

Kristina
