Yes, actually she did complain about eating grains.  I never saw her
eat pasta or rice.   She took some sort of stomach acid pills for many
years. I don't think they helped her.  When she went to the nursing
home at age 97, they stopped that medication (calling it unnecessary).
She was a heavier girl when young and then became very very thin in
middle age and old age.   Her osteoporosis was so severe that she could
not walk for the last couple years of her life.  I strongly suspect she
had undiagnosed Celiac Disease.  She had many of the symptoms that I
had prior to diagnosis.  I, too have found that my quality of life is
better no without ANY grains.
