This is false.  Many seeds are edible raw, including flax seeds.
I agree, however, that flax seeds would have been difficult to
gather.  This doesn't apply to all seeds, however.

This is false.  Grains are the seeds of *grasses*.  Sunflower
seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. are not grains.  Easy to gather, too.
