Hi Everyone

I got the results of my blood tests yesterday, as to why my periods have
stopped. My thyroid is normal, but it turns out I have Polycystic Ovary
Syndrome. My prolactin levels were normal, but the test showed that my
ovaries were stuck at the point were they release the egg's, something
about the FSH level. I am not worried about the fertility problems this
causes because I have never wanted any children or feel like I ever will.

I have a few concerns, firstly I suffer with depression and I think there
is a connection here, ie that I have hormonal imbalances causing it due to
the PCOS. I am going back to the dr's to talk it through and have more
blood tests. I am not keen on taking any synthetic hormones or the pill,
because of links with cancer etc... Also I am not overweight now or have
any problems with excess hairiness as some women do with this condition,
so I don't want to create more problems by taking any pill's.

This brings me back to the Coeliac Disease issue raised by several of
you. I thought i was completely wheat/gluten free, but now realise i
still eat grain fed meat, even though i try to get organic or free range
it would still be on a grain fed diet. I am wondering if I maybe suffer
with CD now, as I also have IBS, which has improved greatly on paleo diet,
but I still get a few milder symptoms which could be caused by grain in
the meat, and maybe in egg's?

Is it possible this could have given me PCOS?, as I'm sure our female
ancestors wouldn't have developed this condition? If I cut out grain fed
meat from my diet would this cure or at least help my condition?, and
maybe correct my hormonal imbalances which I'm sure are giving me all
sorts of emotional problems. Is it too late now I have this? Also if
there are other alternatives I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Just a reminder I live in England, so I don't know of anywhere i could get
grass fed meat from. If there are any paleo followers in the UK, I would
love to find out where i could get this from, if anywhere.

Best Wishes
Mel.
