I'll be getting a check up in December--insurance company
has these time schedules and if you don't get something
done, they send a note to your doctor!!! I'll be curious
about the ratios on my cholesterol (but not too concerned
about the total number) compared to what these ratios were
when I was eating SAD. My 69 yr old mother obsesses about
the numbers on her scale. She takes the low-fat SAD to the
extreme more often than not. She does exercise...needs more
variety in this dept. as well....her triglycerides are off
the scale. The medication compromised her liver, so her
doctor said he'd rather live with the crazy triglyceride
numbers than liver damage. He hasn't suggested alternatives
such as going paleo. This same doctor is treating my step
father for diabetes. Mom has seen the relationship between
his blood sugar and eating a potato....no matter what I
explain to her, she just doesn't get it! If they would just
try going paleo for a month, she's be hooked on being
healthy!!

We are fortunate enough to have a doctor who is open to
alternative ideas. He may not fully support them initially,
but is willing to see how they work out. I can't wait to
tell him what I've done. I know he'll be pleased with the
weight I've lost. BTW, he still makes house calls....at no
additional charge.
