Some of you may have read Gary Taubes, of "Big Fat Lie" fame, excellent article from Science Magazine entitled "The Soft Science of Dietary Fat." (A pdf version can be found at nasw.org/mem-maint/awards/The%20soft%20science.pdf). In both this article and his New York Times Magazine article, Taubes suggests that, although current dietary theory is fundamentally flawed, no real happy alternative exists. He talks repeatedly of the "confusing ambiguity of science" vis a vis the "soft science of current nutritional dogma. Atkins seems to make him understandably nervous, but no where does he mention paleo theory.

Could this be Taubes' missing link? Has anyone either seen mention that he's aware of paleo theory or, better yet, has anyone mentioned it to him themselves?
