The term balanced diet came from New York where waiters came out of the
kitchen with a whole meal balanced on their two arms! :>)          The hunter
gathering society ate what was available at the time. They had no means of
preserving most foods for any length of time. Seasons also dictated what was available
to eat. I would think that the protein foods would have been available most
of the time. Fruits and vegetables during the summer and fall. JerrySteg
