Ingrid expressed the opinion that bacon is non-paleo:

> bacon is certainly as paleo as bread ) commercial pigs have the worst diet
> that you can imagine for an omnivorous animal.

and I agree, but because of another reason. All the bacon that I have
ever seen has been sugar cured in one form or another. (Maybe there is a
type that isn't, but I have never found it). And we all seem to agree
that sugar is very non-paleo.

Yet bacon if often mentioned as a paleo food. On 48HRS, Ray was even
bragging about eating a pound of it most mornings for breakfast. I just
can't get myself to understand how a sugar cured product can be
considered paleo.

I there anyone out there who would like to take up the defence of bacon
as a paleo food? Ray?

Tom
