This is from an Atkins devotee:
"The core of the Atkins program is converting the body from glycolysis
(burning glucose as fuel) to ketosis (burning fat as fuel). Dietary
fat levels need to be >65% of calories. If not, the body will still
remain in glycolysis by converting 58% of excess protein into glucose
(via gluconeogenesis)."
Elsewhere she says, "Everyone will go through a plateau at the six
week mark...."
I read this to say that everyone will plateau at the six week mark
when the body figures out how to convert protein to glucose. I wonder
if one will still plateau if they stick to the fat as 65% of calories
or more restriction.
Happy New Year everyone!
