Needless to say, McDonald's "milk" shakes are nonpaleo
in the extreme. OTOH one can apparently eat the burgers'
vaunted 100% beef patty if one can only scrape off
most of the mystery sauce, ketchup etc. and toss
the bun to the crows.

Ha! When I travel and McDonald's is the only food near the X-way, I ask for
a plain burger without the bun and a salad on the side; I carry my own
bottled water. At first they were appalled at selling me a plain piece of
meat, but I soon learned to always say, "It's for my dog." Then, they're
happy to comply.

This works in other fast food places too and because they don't know quite
how to bill a plain piece of meat, they often include it with the salad for
free.

Woof,
Kath
