I am new to this list and am amazed a the volume of posts.  Other
lists (topics unrelated to this list's) I have been on have been much
less active.

While I have been coming across information both here and elsewhere
that say that raw meat is good to eat, I think it will probably be a
while before I try it.  I have a question though for those of you who
primarily cook meat.  How is crockpot cooking regarded?  Recently I
have been cooking beef and lamb on low for about 6-8 hours with maybe
a cup of water in the pot.  I brown the meat before putting it the
crockpot which tends to keep the moisture in.
