Hi all.

I find it interesting that so many on this list seem to be
intimidated or threatened by vegetarians. Do you think by
spending time on negative critcisms of the ways of "other
cultures" that you're doing anything positive for our paleo
way? Do you think that our passion for a flesh-centered
diet is any less valid to us than their ways are to them?
What happened to tolerance of other's beliefs? And what's
wrong with reverence for life? We revere our own, don't
we? Why disrespect the rat that satisfies our bellies - the
hand that feeds us, so to speak? The prudent hunter knows
that indescriminate slaughter and disrespect for their
environment (i.e. other animals as well as habitats) that
produces and sustains his healthy foods is counterproductive
to her own welfare.

The time spent on defensive negative campaigning directed at
vegetarians could be used to "educate" (like they and others
do with their points of view) people a little about
paleoanthropology and diet instead. Let's show them our
lean, vital bodies rather than lean minds.

Think of it in terms of survival of the fittest: With a diet
like that, they'll all die off eventually anyway, so what
are they going to do to harm us in the long term? Take it
from an ex-veg who almost croaked a few times before
realizing it was the diet that was doing it. (Admitting my
stupidity is harder to take than the scarring and chronic
disease I'm left with as a result. But I'm Klingon now - I
can take the hit!) Unfortunately, as they keel over, they
won't be fit for scavenging after all that grain-feeding -
not enough CLA :-)

Life's to laugh,
Lois
