The aspect I often take exception to is the assumption that if one eats low
carb, one must be eating high protein or high meat. I usually find that I
don't eat any more meat than others, I probably eat more low starch veggies
and perhaps more fat. As a percentage of calories, my protein intake might be
more (low starch veggies after don't usually amount to much calorically), but
I doubt if the number of protein grams per day is in any way excessive. Same
kind of logic that calls the Zone diet a high protein diet -- the amount of
protein prescribed on Sears 1200 calorie diet is not very high for instance
-- but because it represent 30% of calories it's considered a high protien
diet. Crazy!!

Namaste, Liz
