Yes, I have read Cordain's book, and I am making modifications to
my diet. In particular, I'm favoring the leaner meats, which I
simply had not been doing.

I've also changed my exercise program. After much deliberation,
a few weeks ago I bought a "sensible gym" and set it up in my
basement. This device is very similar to the "Total Gym," which
Americans will be familiar with from infomercials, but cheaper.
I'm using this in the mornings, before eating anything, about
five days a week. The workout is higher volume than what I had
been doing in the gym. Because it takes very little time to
switch from one exercise to another, I get a lot of exercise in a
relatively short time, usually 20-30 minutes. I'm taking my
inspiration from Philip Thrift, who also does his workouts in the
morning. My goal is not to build muscle, since that is no longer
a realistic goal for me. Instead, I'm trying to systematically
bring about a "burn" in the different muscle groups, but without
pushing so hard that I have to take days off to recover. The
"burn" means that I am burning glucose anaerobically, and thus
depleting muscle glycogen.

Anyway, I'm hoping that the dietary and exercise modifications
will get the fat-burning process into gear.
