I've also been trying to make that distinction.  Lactose intolerance in
infants is NOT a normal condition, since it makes it difficult or
impossible to tolerate even mother's milk.  Adult lactose intolerance
seems to be a normal progression (at least in a majority of the human
population), and can be used as an argument against the consumption of
milk products, but it's far from the ONLY argument.
