I e-maile questions to one organic egg brand I buy -- Egg Innovations --
regarding 1) why their high omega eggs contain same amount of saturated fat
as "regular" eggs; and 2) why they call all vegetarian feed "natural" diet
for chickens when they eat animals, bugs etc in the wild. Here's the
response I just received:


1. You are right , the Omega 3 eggs have less saturated fat, but due to
labeling laws, things have to be rounded to the nearest 1/2 gr. so on the
panel they come out the same.
2. What we feed our hens is natural feed, meaning no additives, hormones,
chemicals. Eating small insects and rodents is not a chickens natural diet.
If this is all they had to eat, they would not live long. 3. They are fed a
all vegetarian natural feed with no animal by products, no chemicals,drugs,
hormones or antibiotics. They also have a 300% increase in vitamin E. Hope
this answers your questions.
