Not sure what to think about this firestorm of a thread.  Don't have much to
add one way or the other re: the raw/roasted debate (to each his /her own),
but do have a single thought here.  Don't you think it's probable that
humans "discovered" cooked meat long, long, long before we/they were able to
control fire?  Animals are certainly subject to being roasted alive from
natural fire outbreaks from lightning strikes and from fire caused by
spontaneous combustion from decaying matter.  Think about the huge number of
animal casualties the govt. has estimated lost in the great fires out west
the last few years.  Paleo scavengers would likely have taken advantage of
the charred carcasses they found.  If such scenario is in fact the case,
would it not then also be correct to say that human evolution did include
the eating of and adaptation to "cooked" meat?   An looked at this way,
eating cooked meat is not necessarily technology dependent at all.
