>Finally we learn that most of us have no problems to get rid of
excessive salt. And all of a sudden a correlation was found between
prevalence of high blood pressure and the ratio of POTASSIUM to Sodium
in food intake. So High Sodium is not responsible for all the high blood
pressure after all?

True - high blood pressure is more of a result of low potassium than
high sodium! Potassium is found in fresh, natural foods - and is
refined out of processed foods. Most minerals are removed during
processing, and only sodium is returned because it's the only one that
effects the flavor and marketability of the product. So, although the
food originally grew with a natural ration of potassium/sodium of about
2:1 or 3:1, only the sodium is returned to the food before distribution.

Also, high blood pressure is a result of insulin resistance - caused by
a lifetime of eating unatural highly processed, high carbohydrate,
low-fiber foods. Insulin is released when eating high-carbohydrate food
with little fiber. Insulin causes hardening of the arterial walls -
which drives the blood pressure up due to the constriction.

So... the cause of high blood pressure is Kellogg's, Frito-Lay, Wonder,
Kraft, etc. ad nauseum.

So far, most treatment of high blood pressure has been a "panic
situation" where the priority is to lower the blood pressure as soon a
possible to avoid a stroke. Removing sodium from the diet was the
easiet way to lower the blood pressure. Never considering that sodium
must be in correct ratio with potassium, magnesium and calcium to
optimal heart health. As well as prescribing medications who's side
effects were worse than the actual disorder (impotence, lethargy, gyno).
Ironically enough, although most of these medications DO indeed lower
blood pressure - it has been found that taking them does not
significantly lower your chances of having a stroke. So, even though
your chances of having an actual stoke have only been lowered by 12%,
your chances of having a severely degraded quality of life is about 95%.
So much for modern medicine.
