I'm a little sceptical re. the use of the plank.  Is is safe to ingest meat
that has been smoked this way? What do you think?


Cedar wood contains a toxic oil that is  powerful enough to keep any bugs
infestation for years. People who are working al lot with cedar ( sawmill
etc...) have some health problems related to inhaling the gaz emetted by the
wood and may be the contact with skin too.
I don't know how it will pass onto the smoke . but it might be good to do
more research . Was it a traditional way of cooking? Even if it was , it
doesn't mean that it will be completly innocent, but at least we will know
that you can survive despite the practice.
