The only times it's possible I'm not getting enough calories is when I cut
out all dairy (cream, butter). Unless I glop on lots of olive oil or
coconut oil at every meal -- it's tough to get many calories eating around
3-4 ounces grass fed meat (naturally lean -- the exception to this being
lamb) or fish per meal and non-starchy veggies. Nuts seem to stall me out
and I have an extraordinarily difficult time limiting myself to reasonable
amounts -- they are "trigger" foods for me despite being so high in
calories. I've used Fitday to track macronutrient proportions -- any other
programs out there that others find better or more accurate?

Given that one's body will get used to the same workout routine rendering
it less effective over time -- perhaps it's not so out of the realm of
possibility that when one is trying to lose body fat, the body will simply
get used to whatever you're doing rendering whatever method you are using
less effective or will simply slow down metabolically to protect itself.

I would just like to get to goal and then maintain on very low carb paleo.
I've heard all the arguments about phytochemicals, antioxidants, and tons
of fiber allegdly being necessary or desireable but I'm just not persuaded
that it's truly paleo to eat copious amounts of fruits and veggies year
round unless you live in the tropics or other always warm areas. I would
say that here in the Northeast, it simply is not natural to eat tons of
produce -- especially multiple servings of fruit per day throughout the
cold winter months. As for the need for fiber, there is no amount of
salad or fruit that gets things moving for me as fast as saturated fat --
and fat doesn't make me feel bloated or create gas.

Thanks to all who have given their input on this and related threads -- I
truly appreciate the suggestions and thoughts.
