It's funny you mention that, because many decades ago Coke actually did have cocain and that's how it got its name. it was taken out because of the high addiction content. Unfortuantely a lot of people were told it was the ideal tonic and was made out to be very glamorous to the public. Now it's just the caffein that's the big problem as it is the drug of choice in our culture.
As far as why don't the natural doctors do studies, it's true that some don't have the funding. However, there are also many studies that do take place but just don't make it into the public mainstream. I forget the woman's name, but there is a woman on one of the christian cable networks(I think Trinity Broadcasting) who talks about various health topics and how certain foods as well as other factors affect our health in positive and negative ways. If I could remember when I saw her on television I could give you thr day and time, but you could probably check your T.V. guide to look it up if you were interested in finding out. I can't even remember which channel, but again you can look it up if you really want to find out. She talks about paracites and everything.
You could try contacting some schools like Loma Linda University in California and ask them about any studies regarding natural health. There is also a website www.amazingfacts.org that is not only about health. I will forwarn you that they are a christian website, but if you can look past that part and go staright to the section on health and diet then they can tell you about all kinds of studies and facts that have been done regarding cow milk as well as a lot of other things people consume. If you want to disregard it just because it's a broadcasting ministry then that's your choice, but I think they can also provide a great deal of information that many of you have been asking for lately. All I ask is to please not be narrow minded and not want to look it up just because they're Christian. A lot of religions have something positive to offer even if we don't agree with all the philosophies they believe.
