I have recently identified melon (honeydew and cantaloupe) as a real
allergy. My milk and wheat problems fall into the 'intolerance' category.
The melon symptoms are cold symptoms within 20-30 minutes: sore throat,
headache, runny nose, coughing, sneezing, achy feeling. Lasts a few hours
and then I'm tired. This allergy has been a recent development for me.
I'm 32. At 30 I would have said no ill effects. The worst experience was
just a week or so ago. Caused me to miss my morning classes, so no more
melon for me. I will test watermelon when I have the time to spare for a
possibly unpleasant reaction.
