Dearest Friends and Family,

As you know, Food Allergy Awareness is not only an important cause for us, but a daily part of our lives, as the parents of two sons with food allergies. May 10-16, 2004 has been declared Food Allergy Awareness Week. As a part of this all-important event, the Food Allergy and Asthma Support Group of North Jersey, of which we are members, and of which many of you have heard us speak, is having a Dinner Fundraiser to benefit food allergy research and awareness, on the evening of Wednesday, May 12th.

There are no words to express what our family has been through over the past two years. Two years ago we didn't know what food allergies were; we didn't know the daily routine of elimination diets (for both the boys and mommy); we didn't know that prescription formulas even existed let alone how much they cost; we had never been to a Whole Foods and we didn't read labels on every product that we put in the shopping cart. There is just no way to explain the impact that food allergies have had and will continue to have on our lives. It has been, without a doubt, the most sobering and emotional experience of our lives.not once (with Tyler) but TWICE (as we now deal with Hunter's food issues)! It would mean an enormous amount to us to have you, the people who love and care about us the most, join us to support the group that has been, and continues to be, our LIFELINE (literally and figuratively). They taught us not only how to feed and care for Tyler without endangering his life, but have since held our hands, laughed with us and cried with us..they have supported us when we felt helpless and hopeless in what is the overwhelming task of parenting TWO food allergic children.

As the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) says "Until there's a cure, education is the key!" Please remember, YOU can help..."We're All In This Together!" We hope to see you at the dinner, to celebrate the precious and fragile lives of our 2 beautiful food allergic boys, and to help raise funds to promote research and awareness of food allergies! Thank you for your constant love and support!

Our love and gratitude,
Nancy, Joe and the boys
