I've been using the archives of NO-MILK for some time and have found it a
very valuable resource. This is my first message to the group. I am
involved in a difference of opinion with the National Dairy Council of
Ireland. They claim that "calcium is well absorbed from milk and milk
products." One of their scentific advisors, Prof Albert Flynn of UCC
Nutrition Dept, agrees that there is some evidence for the
protein/osteoporosis connection but claims it is still "a hypothesis."Can
anyone help me to set him straight? Specific studies, comments, references,
research etc. All welcome. Especially opinions of doctors, dietitions or
nutritionists. Thanks. (there is a time factor involved. Case due Tues.)
