  UDP/NRP/GPDP ALLIANCE
  P.O.Box 1269
  Bronx, NY 10453

  January 29, 2007

Congratulations UDP/NRP/GPDP Alliance Elected Members: Hon. Babanding Daffeh, Hon.Lamin Sisay, Hon. Pa Jallow, and Hon. Modou sanneh.

We, the executive committee of the UDP/NRP/GPDP Alliance, an assemblage of Diaspora and local Gambians wish to extend our warm and sincere congratulations to the elected Hon. Members of the Alliance, Secretary General and the leadership for bravely contesting against this Junta turned civilian Government.

With all the incontrovertible evidence of unrestrained intimidation, harassment and unlawful arrest of both our candidates and supporters that have not deterred many of our supporters from casting their votes for the Alliance nation wide. The successes of the Alliance do not go unnoticed by the dictatorship. The APRC regime from September 1996 first election in the second republic is using its terror tactics which has not ceased up to this present day even with the constitution in place. These illegal behaviors and actions of President Jammeh regime have not deterred people from expressing their wishes by nominating opposition candidates and voting for them therefore, one should be fully convinced that nobody or regime can stop the peoples’ determination to be free. History is replete with dictators who fell from power because they tried to resist the will of the people.

We believe the election results have signal more efforts and strategies are needed in order to play an even more dynamic role in future elections.

Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to the director of Global Democracy Project Mr. Haruna Darbo who proudly we call a real patriotic son of the Gambia. He is always committed and ready to offer advice and response when ever calls for a help in terms of democratic operations.

  LONG LIVE THE GAMBIA!
  LONG LIVE DEMOCRACY!
  LONG LIVE UDP/NRP/GPDP ALLIANCE!
  SHORT LIVE PRESIDENT JAMMEH DICTATORSHIP!
