Thanks Suntou, I shall call them.

The investment firm of Charles Schwab initiated an Islamic investment portfolio last year. They will invest client's funds in only halal ventures, no alcohol, gambling and all the other things that Islam considers haram to derive revenues from.

The investment world will go where the money is so i am sure that all of these investment firms will follow suit.
Another thing is that once the non-muslim world finds out about Islamic finance and it's prohibition of interest, the financial world that thrives on the interest they burden clients with from credit cards to mortgages and which is one of the major causes of the current financial crisis in the mortgage industry worldwide, they will embrace islamic finance. Interest makes it impossible for a borrower to ever pay off a loan or they end up paying twice the amount they have borrowed and this is why Islam prohibits interest.
Just look at poor third world countries and corrupt leaders on whom the Brettonwood institutions (which are private for profit institutions owned by a few rich families who instituted them long ago so they can control the finances of all governments around the world)  shower with all kinds of loans they cannot afford and those countries then spend the better part of their revenues paying off just the interest (never mind the principle) on these loans for decades instead spending that money to meet the needs of their people. This is how the poor countries and individuals are kept poorer while the rich get richer. This cruelty is what Islam prohibits and the Prophet (SAS) said that eating interest is akin to drinking blood and on the day of judgement, it gives a scary description of the punishment of those who burden mankind with interest and eat it.
There are concerted efforts to discredit Islam and those who do it know the reason why. They do not want people to find out the truth.
However, the Quranul Kareem states that "people plot and Allah (SWT) plans and Allah (SWT) is the best of planners". No one can pre-empt His plan and let us watch Allah (SWT's) plan unfold.

Press Release
05 December 2007
CIMA First Professional Accountancy Body To Offer Islamic Finance
lobal Qualification
CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) is the first
rofessional chartered accountancy body to offer a global qualification
n Islamic Finance, which the CIMA Centre of Excellence is launching
oday (05 December).
The Islamic finance industry is thought to be worth between £150bn and
£250bn, and is growing at an estimated rate of 15 – 20%. In an
xciting new development in meeting the needs of its employer and student
takeholders, CIMA today launches a global qualification in Islamic
inance. We believe that this is a first for a professional accountancy
ody. To date, few courses are available in this area of finance and
ormally comprise of short 1 – 3 day events. CIMA’s self-study
ualification has been developed alongside the International Institute of
slamic Finance, with detailed input from its CEO Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, a
enowned Shari’ah Scholar.
Robert Jelly, Director of Education at CIMA, says:
€œCIMA has identified that there is considerable demand from the
lobal business community to develop the knowledge and skills required to
ervice this increasingly important market. The CIMA Islamic Finance
ualification is the first to be created in conjunction with an Advisory
roup made up of academics, practitioners and scholars of Shari’ah, and
ill assist employers in the City of London and other major financial
entres throughout the world in equipping their employees to develop
inancial products.”
CIMA’s new qualification is available at Certificate level and
omprises four modules: Islamic commercial law; Islamic banking and takaful
insurance); Islamic capital markets and instruments; and accounting for
slamic financial institutions. It is estimated that a student can
omplete these modules in between 2 – 6 months depending upon prior
xperience.
The qualification is available across the globe as a series of study
uides, revision kits and a microsite and provides students with a
horough knowledge of the theoretical and religious aspects that underpin
slamic finance. On completing the Certificate, students will be
omfortable with the array of Arabic terminology used throughout as well as
he
egulations which govern Islamic finance in practice.
