THE GAMBIA

Gambia of now and of later,
Gambia of yesterday was of
Old and young eating in the
Same bowl of "benachin" and
"Mbahal" Although yesterday,
flashed now and tomorrow.

But during yesterday, still
Dialect or tongue variation
Was no distinction, and if there
Was any; it was in words not deep
In the heart. "Tongue words" of no
Meaningfulness or vexation.

Relationship was like ice and
Water. Water solidifies to form
Ice---Then ice melts to
Form water--- No
Difference.  Like one people,
One Gambia, one family.

Don't cripple sweet home,
Stand upright, sweet home,
Beautiful, sweet, sweet home.

Gambians should smile.
Ain't we still the smiling coast
Of, West of Africa?

Gambia by all, of all, and for
All. We love you, sweet home,
Good citizenry will play and
Give sincere role as in demand
By our sovereignty.

You deserve only sincere care
And we see your sweetness of
Home that will always ensue.

The Gambia--- GOD Almighty
Protect you, Gambians how
Nice you-----------?
We love you Banjul, The Gambia.

"Benachin" and "Mbahal" are Senegambian platable rice dishes.
