Gambia.L,

The Oslo Action Group has been making final arrangements for the Demonstration in Oslo tomorrow. Though much time has elapsed since the massacre of the students, we feel nonetheless that it is better late than never, to come together to formally condemn this brutal act.

The venue, as mentioned before is Youngstorget and the event begins at 13:00 local time. There will be at least two speakers from the Action Group and we expect representatives from Amnesty International - Norway, The Norwegian Red Cross and from the Norwegian Students' and Academics' International Assistance Fund (SAIH).

The members of the organising committee are scheduled to hold a meeting just after the demo to assess the event. After that we'll update the L. We expect to transfer the collected donations to Alpha by next week. The organisations mentioned above have also expressed willingness to follow up the situation back home and SAIH has hinted at the possibility of linking up with GAMSU for moral and financial support.

We are also in the precess of setting up a meeting with the President of the Red Cross here and see about the possibility of setting up a Fund to support the late Omar Barrow's family. We were supposed to recieve confirmation for the meeting yesterday but our man who was on that job simply couldn't wait any longer as he had been on night duty before going on some errands in the morning. We'll keep you updated.

So, hopefully the demo tomorrow will only be a stepping stone for more things to come.

For those in Oslo and environs, PLEASE MAKE TIME TO ATTEND THE DEMO.

Regards,

Kabir.
