Hello, Habib and all, the last time I was at my parents' house, my father tried to bring up the Islam suppresses women argument...  I started to mention to him that even the Prophet's wife Khadijah was a businesswoman, and Aisha was a teacher and a transmittor of Haddith...  Then, my father said that he guessed that Muslim men who are ooppressive to women are sort of like men here in America who expect their wives to just stay home and cook and clean for them...  I told him that was exactly how it was.  
     It seems that bad treatment of women crosses both cultural and religious lines, but I guess people don't see it here, since women here are considered to be free.  Unless of course you turn on day time TV and watch the talk shows.  Which I don't...
