Mose, yes, Yus did break many a Walidan fans in his scoring or disrupting their play. Now how can one ever forget about you folks from James Senegal, yes the EXPERTS that can give you an analysis out of this world, be it tactical, skill, "Arbiteur", etc. If only Condorong can play like that. :-)! I could not resist a crack at bat for you hung this one too low. You know my opinion about you instigators at the fence. But seriously, commentary was instrumental in the game as the game itself and that is the difference between the game then and now, in the Gambia. On the Post, someone reminded me about the other great in Sidi Jammeh. Like Saul, he made his art exciting and folks looked forward to Sundays. He also made the artists in the field more determined and to the young aspirants like myself, it gave us vision. The did their Job well. I knew at some point you would respond, for you guys not only watched the match you went to watch at Box Bar with your commentaries, but you simultaneously analyzed Diaraff at Demba Jobe, Senegal, Liver Pool in England or Maradona with Boca Juniors in the Argentine league, etc., all at the same fence.

Now going back to you folks at the fence, boy where did you guys learn French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, ect.? I would hear you folks dangling all sorts of foreign words in your description of a dribble, position, strategy, etc., and I would just shake my head in bewilderment. Yes indeed you guys were the experts. Didn't Saul Njie have a description of that gang? Something tells me he did. You guys made it fun though. I use to laugh until my stomach hurt when ever Young Africans square with Starlight and I hear Poiken or someone instigating by telling Sukuro that my guys have bragged in town that we were going to communicate in English so Starlight will not understand our strategy. In turn Suks will start teasing Paulo Rossi, that Bill Badjie is whispering that Rossi cannot whistle because of his missing teeth. Rossi will then fire back wit "Hai Yow Suks Nu Ham La, Yow Ngai Road Mender". It is amazing and really funny to hear the teasing and cajoling that went on in the field.> From: [log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]> CC: [log in to unmask]> Subject: Re: OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT CAPTAIN YUSUPHA SIBBY> Date: Sat, 26 Apr 2008 15:51:31 +0000> > Joe:> > Yes indeed! it brings back find memories. When I heard of his death, the best memory that came to mind was a final between Walidan and Real, of course there were lots of those kind of matches. This particular game, in the dying minutes Captain Sibby with a bicycle kick - a volley for the winning goal. Joe, this is the kind of rememberance that you can only get from the experts at James Senegal. Not only did we listen commentary from the likes of Saul njie, but Grand Lie Jow as well - "La calification the Senegal sur la pied de Boske."> > Fond memories indeed> > Musa> -------------- Original message ----------------------> From: Joe Sambou <[log in to unmask]>> > Bro Sheikh, thanks for the rescue.
