I don't buy this position for a second. That doesn't meant to say the guy is not evil. He has wrong our nation.

However, it must be said he inherited the environment and exploited and continued to do so to-date. Unless the status quo changes we can expect many Yahya Jammeh's in the future. In fact do not be surprised to see one you once put down your head for turn dictator.

Whatever the definition of Yahya.......he's 'A Problem' and not 'The Problem'.

Our best chances are to go after the very underlying factors that makes both Jawara and Yahya abuses possible.

All that aside..........let's assume for the sake of this discussion 'Yahya is our Problem'.

HOW DO WE TAKE OUT YAHYA? Unless we have one and work on it what good is all our noises. I also think each of should have something in mind as a possible solution. Please share it!

Please give deliberate actions in a sequence they will be conducted by citizens - bullet points if possible. Also show what could be your own possible role should it be required by your peers. The later is important because so much outsourcing. I think we had enough of THEY should/should not.......... Let's now hear WE should/should not.............

Folks am not for Yahya's criminal enterprise. In fact I have never fall for it upon announcement over Radio Gambia on the evening July 22, 1994. However I like realism, pragmatism and practicality especially in politics. From our vantage taking Yahya as the first order of business is not very practical and should it happen in some others ways that might even further complicate our struggle.

My challenges to our struggle is not a favoritism of one side over another. It's not against the overall intent. Nor am I a secret agent of Yahya. Our current positions and repositioning will not do the job. That's the message am trying to sell with a view to encourage organic changes from within. Unless we are ready to take stock both intra and inter we can quickly be blind sided about reality. That's a characteristic of dictatorship - they become introverts. Nor am I hater of the beloved political parties.

Lets examine underlying fundamental problem(s) with a view to crafting a national solution. We can't remain reactionary to Yahya's acts. Lets look at Gambia at this moment and make a claim of what our nation is found on - 'A Republic & Govern Democratically'. That's common to every Gambian regardless of party affiliation and/or lack there off.

We would need a national definition of the problem (this doesn't mean that we do not know the issues but quiet a spread how we individually see it). Such a definition has to be written and not just to be transmitted by word of mouth. Such problems will inform us what needs to be done. What needs to be done will inform us what kind of vehicle (organization) is needed. That vehicle will carry these programs to garner as much political leverage for our plight. With that leverage Yahya will be confronted and push back. Eventually the will of the people will dictate rather than Yahya's. On such a day, even if it 50 years from today, will be the date Gambians can claim to be masters of a sovereign republic.

Noise, however loud has never remove a dictator and it will never. Dictators are taken down with real or perceived threat powerful than that they project to helpless citizens.

We have a chance to 'Articulate Our Problem', Organize and Mobilize' 'Seek Recognition (leverage)' and confront Yahya or we can remain head buried in the sand claiming noise in London/New York/Stockholm will vaporize Yahya over time.

My thoughts!

Burama
