PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni on Saturday said he will leave power and hand over in an organised manner when the time to do so comes.

"Those who have been worried that Museveni would not hand over power one day should now be relaxed. Museveni knows when to hand over power," he said, adding that he however did not like people shouting at him to leave power.

Speaking at the 10th graduation ceremony of Mbarara University of Science and Technology, the president said, "What Museveni does not accept is endigito, nti agende, agende (he should go, he should go). He can kugenda but with a good arrangement," Museveni said, adding that, "What we are carrying out these days is organised kugenda." At the same function, at which 220 students graduated, Museveni officially handed over the post of chancellor to the first non-head of state chancellor of the university, Prof. Raphael Owor.

Museveni urged the university leadership to always produce students who will find jobs after graduating. "Don't just produce people who can speak English and Arabic and that's all," he said. He said that students should pursue courses that are market-oriented.

"And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, 'When will you be satisfied?' We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities (.) No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream". (Martin Luther King, 1964 Nobel Peace prize laureate, assassinated for his struggle)
