Following are two articles regarding the issue of the Governmental
Proclaim War on The Local Tourist Guide (a/k/a Bumster). The first is
the Independent View, an editorial addressing The Vexed Question. The
second is an article entitled Beach Bar Owner Threatens To Sue
Government...

If access to adult and vocational education is denied to those men and
women who had to drop out of school in order to assist their families,
do we have the right to scorn them for trying to earn a living as local
tourist guides... to call them Bumsters because of their inability to
obtained a level of education which so few have obtained in The Gambia.
These are men and women who despite their educational and economic
limitations work hard to try to assist their families in the villages.
No one sets out to be a nuisance. These men and women also dream of
the day that they may also be given the opportunity to resume their
education, develop viable skills and increase their earining potential.

Quality of Life, Equal Opportunity, Educational and Vocational Access
Should Be Made Available To All Gambians, Even The Bumsters!
