Prince,
Well...its usual for intelligence agencies to hear
words like 'threatening us' or 'threatening me' etc etc...However,sociology
has ascertained that in every social set up there are two structures ie:the
visible and the invisible ones. Therefore intelligence agencies do serve as
the ivisible ones. This helps in gathering information thats either in favour
or against that particular set up.Thus the source of words like 'subversive
activities' 'threats to national security' etc etc.
Based on the above, such agencies conduct 'overt' or 'covert' operations be
it at an international level or a local one.

Therefore the usage of the word 'threat' cannot be monopolised by either the
agents or those seen as threats by those very agents. If someone or a group
of people is considered a threat to security etc the agents for security
reasons are obliged to counter the activities of that group or that
individual.Usually the problem of human rights comes into play when
operations OF THAT NATURE start. Its either the agents who make mistakes when
arresting or interrogating or the person or persons who are seen as threats
to security who fabricate stories that will help the defence council if the
case goes to court etc. Agents aren't exempted from making mistakes because
they are human thus the reason why training courses, seminars relating to the
respect of fundamental human rights and the rule of law are a necessity in
that regard.
Infact knowing the law can be a big advanatage to the agents and the agency
they represent! Many a times we have been seeing and are still seeing law
enforcement agents being unable to win their cases because of being
handicapped in that particular area.
Likewise the party who's seen as threat to security also may not know his or
her rights thus if power is usurped he or she won't be able to distinguish
between where the law has been offended and where some political interest
has been offended. The latter is usually a democratic issue, anyway THEREFORE
SHOULD NOT BE USED as a means of punnishment without going thru the
courts.Because even if the offence is on secrity-related matters it still
has to go thru the due process of law.

Now on 'covert' operations; i believe no state is obliged to dessiminate
such information to the public in a non chalant way! Even those of us who
are saying herein that the NIA is threatening people know that its not only
the NIA that conducts covert operations in the world as far as intelligence
gathering is concerned.
The CIA does it,others do it! so the questions i have on the above are as
follows:
1/Who amongst you can run a gvt without an intelligence agency?
2/Remember that countries like Costa Rica have no armies, but do you believe
that they are without intelligence agencies?
3/If the NIA isn't what some of you prefer what suggestions do u have for
the current regime back home?
4/Should the NIA leave subversive operations to go ahead unchecked? If yes
why? and if no also why?
5/Would any one of you accept serving the NIA abroad?
If yes why? and if no also why?
6/Is any one of u hundred percent sure that he or she is on an NIA wanted
list as some of u are pretensiously saying here?
7/The NIA are humanbeings like all of us don't you think they also need
peace and want to be resting at home without arresting people?

Lastly there is one big question for all and sundry!
Why fear the NIA if one hasn't offended the law and one has no hidden
agenda?!

More on that if Prince isn't still satisfied.
Bye for now.

YEROPULLOH!
