NEW AFRIKAN MILLENNIUM
8 FEBRUARY 2004

I do agree that dropping Janet Jackson from the Grammy Award Show & leaving Justin Timberlake in, is a specific
re-affirmation of the white-is-right message: He could rip her clothes off. This is ok with the corporate KKK.
(see article below)

Since AFRIKAN Women have been portrayed as morally depraved temptresses for poor besotted white males for centuries,
Victorian 'etiquette' (which is based upon British patriarchy) says that if Janet had dressed 'appropriately' nothing
'untoward' would have occurred...therefore she must have 'wanted, enjoyed & fantasized' about having this done to her
in some secret corner of her mind.

The object after all, was to titillate not to empower.

That same etiquette would have said nothing at all about a scenario in which a white male was allowed to strip off articles
of an AFRIKAN Woman's clothing on national & international television.

Guess what imagery that produces for the kiddies, even if the show had gone according to plan?

No one saw any AFRIKAN Men portrayed ripping the clothes off of white women for titillation & / or for millions, or
to feed C's (BS) now did they? Why? Because everything that is supposedly atavistic in white males would have come
to the fore - & because CBS would have lost a large chunk of its prime audience base - white males. Stock market values
would have plummeted. Millions would have been lost.

And it would have been another OJ Simpson feed...extreme white anger that a Black Man could be acquitted of the murder
of a white female...

This nonsense is going to follow Janet Jackson around for quite some time...another experience of being a Black Woman
in Klan country.

TURNING POINT MAGAZINE CRITICIZES CBS, VIACOM, AND GRAMMYS FOR TREATING
JANET JACKSON UNFAIRLY
By Pat Means

Today's news (2/5/04) reports that The Recording Academy has dropped
Janet Jackson from Sunday's Grammy Awards show - while keeping a
performance by Justin Timberlake. The Grammys will be aired on CBS
Sunday, Feb. 8 at 8:00 pm.

I was as shocked as anyone about what transpired during last week's
Super Bowl halftime show, and I do not condone the behavior displayed
by both Ms. Jackson AND Mr. Timberlake. However, the purpose of this
letter is to address the issue of fairness. As an African American and as a
woman, I cannot help but address the sexist, and possibly racist
response of The Recording Academy and CBS.

It seems like the same old story: Punish the woman - support the man.
hit hard the person of color - slap the wrist of the white. The message
behind this action is chilling.

If you are at all concerned about this decision by The Recording
Industry and CBS, please download the attached letter and fax to RIAA,
CBS and Viacom (parent company of CBS) immediately. You should also
call the organizations to express your concern. (If you have e-mail
addresses for the presidents of the entities - use them and pass them along)

The message that should be delivered? Either allow Janet Jackson to
appear on the Grammy Awards show OR dump Justin Timberlake also.

Let's not argue among ourselves about what Ms. Jackson and Mr.
Timberlake did - and I know we face so many other issues of inequality
let's stand up against this unequal treatment!
